Opened by John Fisher in May 2000, the
Fisher Studio & Gallery in Pittenweem is now in its eighth year. It
shows work by a wide range of contemporary artists and craft workers,
most of whom work in Scotland. While the majority of the exhibiting
artists are well established and popular with collectors, the gallery
also encourages new talented artists.
Most of the exhibitions feature the paintings of resident artist
Jan Fisher who has exhibited widely in Scotland, in London and in
Bristol. She taught in schools and colleges in the west of England before moving to the Highlands in 1973
where she found inspiration for the subjects of her work. Her oil
paintings and watercolours explore ways of depicting the beauty and the drama of the
Scottish landscape and seascapes off the Scottish coast..
The gallery also publishes a range of limited edition giclee
prints.
The MAY EXHIBITION
opens on Saturday May 3rd. Five painters are exhibiting new work -

Fisher.
The regular craft
/3D artists in the Fisher Gallery includes work using driftwood by Garry Brown

enamelling by Lewis Banks.
The MAY EXHIBITION
in the Fisher Gallery continues until June 10th.
